Béatrice Rauchs (Piano)

Born: July 27, 1962 - Luxembourg

The Luxembourgean-born pianist, Béatrice Rauchs, studied usic at the Conservatoriesin Luxembourg and Metz, at the Conseatoire National Supérieur de Paris (first prizes for piano and chamber music in 1982 and 1983) and at the Academy of Music in Basel (soloist's diploma in 1988). Jeanne Stein, Mireille Krier, Aldo Ciccolini. Jean Hubeau, Rudolf Buchbinder and Jean Micault have been her teachers. She has also attended master-classes with Tatiana Nikolayeva, Hans Leygraf and Vladimir Kreiniev. At international musical competitions (e.g. Vercelli, Senigallia, Paris, Stresa) she has repeatedly been a prize-winner. In May 1991, at the Concours de la Reine Elisabeth de Belgique, she distinguished herself by being selected fbr the semihnals.

Béatrice Rauchs has given concerts in most European countries: she has perfomed as a soloist uith. among others, the RTL Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonieorchester Basel and Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, as well as making recordings for France Musique, Swedish Television, Radio Saarbrticken and RAI.

Since 1987 Béatrice Rauchs has also been a piano teacher at the Conseryatory of Luxembourg City. She recorded for BIS the complete piano works of Sofia Gubaidulina.
