Josep Miquel Ramón (Baritone)

Born: Alboraia (Valencia),, Spain

The Spanish baritone, Josep-Miquel Ramón, took singing lessons at the Conservatioro de Valencia under Ana Luisa Chova and later with Aldo Baladin, Juan Oncina, and Felisa Navarro.

Josep-Miquel Ramón is member of ensembles such as Il Seminario Musicale (Director: Gérard Lesne), or La Capella Reial de Catalunya (Director: Jordi Savall), with which he has performed at the most prestigious European halls and festivals, as well as recorded in several occasions. He has been invited by most of the leading Spanish symphony orchestras, and has also collaborated with international orchestras such as the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia di Roma, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI in Turin, New York Philharmonic Orchestra, or the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. He has worked under the baton of Harry Christophers, Robert King, Sir Neville Marriner, Plácido Domingo, Andrew Parrott, or René Jacobs, amongst others, and the most of the most notorious Spanish conductors.

Josep-Miquel Ramón's operatic repertoire contains titles like Dido & Aeneas by Purcell, La Serva Padrona by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberföte and Don Giovanni by W.A. Mozart, La Bohème by Puccini, Elisir d’Amore by Donizetti, La Cenerentola by Rossini, and El hijo fingido by Joaquín Rodrigo, among others. In his oratorio perforpance he has sung pieces by George Frideric Handel like The Messiah, Judas Maccabeus or Alexanders Feast, W.A. Mozart’s l Réquiem, The Creation by Haydn, or J.S. Bach’s Johannes Passion (BWV 245), in adittion to great symphonic works like L.v. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.

Josep-Miquel Ramón has appeared in several festivals such as the International Music Festival in Santo Domingo or the Festival Internacional Cervantino, as well as in seasonal concerts all over Spain and a tour in the USA and Israel under the baton of Rafael Frübeck de Burgos interpreting Manuel de Falla’s La vida breve.
