The Swedish soprano, Miah Persson, grew up in the provincial town of Hudiksval and as a youngster she sung in choirs and took part in amateur theatre. After living in Paris for a year, she came to Stockholm in 1991 to study lieder, sacred music and opera at the private Conservatoire Kulturama in Sweden. Besides singing she has also studied musicology, piano and conducting. In 1994 she joined Opera Studio 67 in Stockholm and in 1996 continued her studies at the University College of Opera, also in Stockholm. She has also studied privately performance with the American director Talmage Fauntleroy, bel canto with Oscar Figueroa and interpretation with David Harper. |
