Orchester ad fontes (Orchestra)

Founded: Late 1980's - Switzerland

Under the name "ad fontes" since the late 1980's gather specialists of historical performance practice from whole Switzerland and the European adjacent countries for intensive rehearsals and concerts. The music of the Baroque and the early classical period forms the emphasis of its activity. Due to the flexibility of its size, the ensemble can perform tasks as chamber orchestra, oratorio orchestra and symphony orchestra. The core of the ensemble is the String Quartet of same name.
