The Egidienchor Nürnberg is a chamber choir consisting of about 30 singers, dedicated to works from different centuries. A special focus is on the literature of the Renaissance and the early and high Baroque. Especially the question of historical moods plays an important role in the elaboration of these epochs. Works from the Renaissance and the early Baroque are also use soloists. Another accent in choral work is the development of contemporary works that play an important role in both concerts and worship programs.
The performance of the Marienvesper in 2005 was celebrated by the Nuremberg press as "spectacular" and as the "highlight of the just started Nuremberg concert season", the performance of the Egidienchor in Schubert's E-flat Mass in 2006 was described as "breathtaking". In the scenic performance of George Frideric Handel's oratorio Saul in 2007, the choir received an "impressive performance" and named the "breathtaking sonority" of the choir at W.A.
