Martino Noferi (Recorder, Conductor)

Born: 1969 - Florence, Italy

The Italian recorder player, conductor and music teacher, Martino Noferi, began his musical studies as a child, dedicating himself in particular to the study of the recorder (at the Istituto Kodaly) and later at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. He graduated cum laude at the Conservatorio L. Cherubini in Florence with D. Bellugi, then dedicating himself to the study of the Baroque oboe at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan, where he also obtained his Master of Music degree in Musical Disciplines with honors and praise.

Martino Noferi carries out an intense concert activity both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles and orchestras in Italy and abroad. He is part of numerous early music groups (Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque) including Il Rossignolo (of which he is the founder together with O. Tenerani and M. Testi), Il Complesso Barocco (Director: Alan Curtis), Modo Antiquo (with which he has had two Grammy nominations Award, in 1999 and 2000), Homme Armèe, La Serenissima (London), Li Stromenti, Horti Annalenae, I Virtuosi Italiani, the Italian Baroque Orchestra, Ex Silvis, Ausermusici, La Cappella della Pietá dei Turchini, I Barocchisti (Director: Diego Fasolis), Accademia Ottoboni etc., playing under the direction of important conductors including Rinaldo Alessandrini, Mario Brunello, Alan Curtis, Diego Fasolis, Andrew Lawrence-King, Jean-Claude Malgoire, Jordi Savall and others. He has participated in the solo and ensemble recording of various CD's.

Since 2002 he has held the chair of straight flute at the Scuola di Musica G. Verdi in Prato. He teaches recorder and ensemble music for ancient instruments at the Istituto di Alta Formazione Musicale R. Franci in Siena. Recorder Teacher at Conservatorio di Musica di Bari (since January 2019).
