Diana Moore (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: England

The English mezzo-soprano Diana Moore studied at the University of Birmingham followed by postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music, where she was awarded the DipRAM after winning such awards as the Laura Ashley Foundation Bursary Award, the Leith Hill Festival Young Artists Award (both in 1998) and the Prince's Trust Bursary Award (in 1997). In 1999 she was a Recommended Artist under the NFMS Young Artists Award scheme.

Recent highlights have included numerous oratorios around the UK and recitals and concerts with The Sixteen, the Gabrieli Consort and Players and the BBC Philharmonic. Operatic roles have included the Spirit in Dido and Aeneas with the King's Consort and the Sorceress in the same work with Ex Cathedra. Personal note (by Galina Kolomietz): Diana Moore was most impressive in St Matthew's Passion (BWV 244) conducted by Paul McCreesh at La Chaise Dieu in 2000 and in St Matthew Passion (BWV 244) conducted by Sir Roger Norrington in London in April 2001.
