Albrecht Lepetit (Tenor)

Born: 1945 - Germany

The German tenor, Albrecht Lepetit, was a member of the Thomanerchor Leipzig from 1955 to 1963. During his music and theology studies he co-founded of the Kammermusikkreises (as violinist) and the Männervokalkreises. He was trained with various teachers in Leipzig, Halle (Saale), Berlin, Darmstadt; and participated in the music seminar in Weimar.

Albrecht Lepetit has had especially close cooperation with the Thomanerchor Leipzig and Dresdner Kreuzchor Over many years. With these choir he made tours to Poland, Czechoslovakia, Italy, Japan, Canada. He also participated in television programs and recordings in collaboration with Capella Fidiciana and the Dresdner Kreuzchor (Marienvesper of Monteverdi and others).

Albrecht Lepetit is a Pastor at the Köthen's St. Jakobskirche in the main profession. In 1992, on behalf of the Neuen Bachgesellschaft (New Bach Society) in Romania, he was lecturer at an interpretation seminar for J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion ( BWV 245) together with the Kirchenmusikhochschule Dresden. He is a constantly requested guest as Evangelist for J.S. Bach's Passions. In 1979, he sang in Japan with the Dresdner Kreuzchor and Dresdner Philharmonie conducted by Martin Flämig (J.S. Bach's BWV 147 together with Barbara Hoene, Heidi Rieß and Gothart Stier, with Barbara Hoene, Heidi Rieß and Siegfried Lorenz Requiem of W.A. Mozart and others). In March 1998, he sang in Berlin the Evangelist in J.S. Bach Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) with the Berliner Kantorei, Concerto Brandenburg and Berliner Mädchenchor conducted by Günter Brick.

LP/CD, radio and TV recordings document his artistic activity.
