The German soprano, Uta Krause, studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden with Gisela Burkhardt and Christiane Junghanns. In addition, she received important impulses in master-classes with Margret Honig (Amsterdam) and Edith Wiens (Munich), among others. Today she is looked after by Uta Fabricius (Berlin).
Concert singing plays an important role in the versatile work of Uta Krause. Her repertoire ranges from early music to Haydn, W.A. Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn and Johannes Brahms to contemporary music. She has performed with such conductors as the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, Mitteldeutschen Kammerorchester, Sinfonietta Dresden, Collegium Musicum Berlin and Le Concert Lorrain, under conductors such as Howard Arman, Michael Gielen, Johannes Kalitzke, Ekkehard Klemm and Hans-Christoph Rademann. Furthermore, she performed with artists such as Matthias Eisenberg and Ludwig Güttler. She was also a member of Dresdner Kammerchor (Director: Hans-Christoph Rademann).
In the field of New Music, Uta Krause combines a long-standing collaboration with the ensemble Aisthesis and the SCHOLA Heidelberg, with whom she has performed numerous modern works, such as by Grisey, Lachenmann, Ligeti, Nono, Sciarrino and Xenakis.
Uta Krause has performed successfully at numerous festivals, such as at the Brandenburger Musiksommer, UltraSchall Festival Berlin, Musica Viva Munich, Lucerne Festival, Venice Biennale. Furthermore, she has given Lieder and chamber music recitals with works by Purcell, Ravel and Wolf.
Radio productions and CD recordings document her artistic work, including the 2008 premiere of the Diapason d'Or with "Les Chants de l'Amour" by Gérard Grisey. |
