Achim Kleinlein (Tenor)

Born: Kassel, Hessen, Germany

The German tenor, Achim Kleinlein, is best known to concert going audiences as a leading interpreter of the Evangelist in the Passions of J.S. Bach, works which he has sung in Israel and in many of the European musical centers on numerous occasions. His repertoire ranges from Monteverdi to the contemporary. On the operatic stage, the tenor roles of Mozart are ideally served by the elegance of his phrasing.

Achim Kleinlein has appeared with the NDR Symphony Orchestra, the Münchner Philharmoniker, the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, the Prague Symphony and the Israel Chamber Orchestra. He is also a regular guest at numerous international festivals, such as the Schleswig-Hoistein Music Festival, the Dresden Musikfestspielen, the Middle European Festival, the Wiener Klassik im Musikverein and the Bachfest Lausanne.

Achim Kleinlein's artistic versatility is documented in numerous radio and CD productions.
