Regine Jurda (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: Munich, Germany

The German mezzo-soprano, Regine Jurda, studied singing with Wolfgang Brendel and Gabriele Kaiser at the Musikhochschule München.

Regine Jurda has appeared several times on the stage of Münchner Prinzregententheaters, including in operas by Purcell, Cavalli, Hiller, Steffani, in Benjamin Brittens Midsummer Night's Dream, Offenbach's The Beautiful Helena and Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro. At the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz she sang in operas by Richard Strauss and Johannes Maria Staud. She has also performed at the Theater Konstanz, Markgräflichen Opernhaus Bayreuth, at the Münchner Biennale, the Wiener Festwochen and the Berliner Festspielen.

Regine Jurda is a popular performer especially in the concert area and a frequent guest at renowned music festivals such as the Internationalen Beethovenfest Bonn or the Oberstdorfer Musiksommer. Concert tours have taken her, inter alia, to France and Russia. Her repertoire comprises not only the traditional concert and oratorio literature of the Renaissance and the Baroque, but also contemporary music.
