The Spanish bass, Javier Jiménez-Cuevas, obtained the Superior Degree of violin in the Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel Castillo de Sevilla. He is currently (as of 2010) studying singing with Professor Lambert Climent at the Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña. In addition, he has expanded his training with renowned teachers such as Antonio Abete, Richard Levitt, José Hernández Pastor and Ana Huete
Javier Jiménez-Cuevas is a founding member of the Coro del Teatro de la Maestranza de Sevilla with which he has participated in numerous opera productions, symphonic concerts and with which he has performed solo roles in operas such as Fidelio by L.v. Beethoven or Manon by Massenet.
Javier Jiménez-Cuevas is a member of the Coro Barroco de Andalucía, directed by the renowned masters Lambert Climent, Lluís Villamajó and Carlos Mena. He regularly collaborates with prestigious groups such as the Peñaflorida Chapel, Vozes de al Ayre Español and the Coro de Cámara del Palau de la Música Catalana.
Javier Jiménez-Cuevas has played the role of Pan in the premiere in Spain of the opera La Diana Schernita by Giacinto Cornachioli, in the X Festival de Música Antigua de Gijón, in 2007, and that of Caronte in the production Orfeo by Monteverdi, conducted by Maximiliano Toni at the same festival, in 2009. He currently lives in Seville, Spain. |
