The Geerman baritone, Matthias Jahrmärker, received early piano and singing lessons. From 1988 to 1992 he attended the Spezialschule für Musik "G. F. Händel". From 1993 to 2001 he studied singing (with a 15-month interruption by civil service) with Professor Kammersänger Wolfgang Hellmich at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin. He attended a master class with the Hilliard Ensemble.

Matthias Jahrmärker has co-operated oferten with Freiburger Barockorchester and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. He has sung under the conductors Marcus Creed, Andrew Manze, Philippe Herreweghe, Gary Cooper and others. Stage/concert partners have been Annette Dasch, Johannette Zomer, James Gilchrist or Christoph Prégardien.
His love of various musical forms, not least of ensemble singing, so Matthias Jahrmärker is one of the founding members of the Vocalconsort Berlin. Both as a singer, but also as a director of various ensembles he was able to contribute and develop his musical knowledge and talent. He has taught for several years as a lecturer at the Berliner Schule für Schauspiel. CD / DVD productions, and radio and TV recordings document his musical work. Since 2013 he lives in Moved to Pankow, Berlin, Germany. |
