The Japanese soprano, Masako Iwami, graduated from the vocal music department of the Tokyo University of the Arts and Music and the master's course of the graduate school. She graduated from the Birthday Party Opera Training Center, winning the Excellence Award. She won the 3rd place at the 5th Japan Mozart International Music Competition Vocal Music Section. She studied under Mr. Takahashi Omi, Mr. Mineko, A. Noni, Mr. Reale. She studied under Ernst Haefliger in Munich from from the time she was in college. In Germany and Switzerland, she studied solo of oratorio cantata and studied German singing interpretation and classical Baroque playing with Jörg Ewald Dähler (Bern Institute of Music). She obtained a diploma at Zürich-Lucerne Master Course. She studied in Vienna at the dispatch of the Japan Vocal Music Association.
Masako Iwami made her opera debut with the role of Papagena in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. She has performed at the Agency for Cultural Affairs Opera Training Center 20th anniversary, the voicing fellow rookie concert, evening of the second term association musician, international NGO Federation Conference Concert (Israel), Kusatsu Summer International Music Festival etc. In 2000 She was quickly selected as a soloist for J.S. In the opera, Masako Iwami has appeared in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte, Rigoletto, La Bohème, Pagliacci, Georges Bizet's Carmen, Pelleas and Melisande , Der Rosenkavalier , Batsuri and so on. In 2006 on 250th Birth Anniversary of W.A. Mozart she gave All-Mozart Program (Owako Hall), and in 2013 and recital of "German songs by Goethe's poetry" (Ginza Oji Hall), recital of Robert Schumann & Clara Schumann Lieder (Minato Mirai Hall), etc. She is continuing performances at local public halls.
