The Italian organist, conductor, harpsichordist and music teacher, Stefano Innocenti, graduated in piano under the tutelage of Pietro Scarpini; in organ and harpsichord after having attended in Haarlem (Netherlands), for 3 years, summer courses with Anton Heiller, Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Kenneth Gilbert and Marie-Claire Alain.
Since 1985, Stefano Innocenti has been the titular organist of the Cappella Ducale di San Liborio in Colorno (Parma) with the the 18th-century Serassi organ. He has given numerous concerts across Europe, USA, Canada, Brazil and Japan. He played for the inauguration of many restored historical organs, including the Bolognese of San Petronio and the Gabler of Weingarten (Baden-Württemberg).
Stefano Innocenti has recorded several discs on the organ, some of which are dedicated to the Italian 17th century (Ricordi, Erato), to Andrea Gabrieli (Victorie), to the organ and orchestra concerts of Paër and Salieri, in George Frideric Handell, to solo concerts for organ and harpsichord by Haydn and to all the harpsichord sonatas of Platti (La Bottega Discantica), to recent compositions by Riccardo Castagnetti (Tactus), to keyboard music in Naples (Brilliant Classics) and, on the harpsichord, to Toccatasa of J.S. Bach (Stradivarius).
Stefano Innocenti was Professor of organ and organ composition at the Bologna Conservatory and the Arrigo Boito Conservatory of Parma. He also gave interpretation lessons at the academies of Pistoia, Romainmotier (Switzerland) and Toulouse; he has been a member of the juries of numerous international competitions of execution, composition and improvisation. He lives between Parma and Arcola in La Spezia. |
