Kathrin Hildebrandt (Contralto)

Born: Germany

The German contralto, Kathrin Hildebrandt, studied singing with Professor Beata Heuer-Christen at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg and was member of the opera school there. In July 2001 she finished her soloist studies with honour.

Kathrin Hildebrandt sang in numerous concerts in her homeland and abroad and with various Festivals, such as Bachtage Mulhouse, Bachfest Schaffhausen, Voci d'Europe (Sardinia), and Biennale in Venice. With the Sommerfestival 2001 the Opera Camera Linz engaged her as Penelope in Monteverdi's Die Heimkehr des Odysseus. In May 2003 she sang the Dryade in Ariadne auf Naxos at the Teatro Nacional Sao Carlo in Lisbon under the direction of Zoltan Pesko.

CD and broadcast recordings, as well as song evenings supplement Kathrin Hildebrandt's varied artistic activity. Since 2003-2004 season she belongs to the opera ensemble of the Staatstheaters Braunschweig and could already be heard there in roles as 3rd Lady (Die Zauberflöte), 3rd Elfe (Rusalka), Trommler (Der Kaiser von Atlantis) and Preziosilla (Die Macht des Schicksals).
