Born: Wetzikon, Switzerland
The Swiss Soprano, Dorothea Frey, studied singing with Helen Keller in Zürich (training diploma) and during eight years with Professor Elsa Cavelti in Basel.
By her activity as concert and oratorio singer, as well as by her participation in various small ensembles, Dorothea Frey expanded her repertoire, which extends over all epochs of the singing literature. She feels particularly attracted to the kind of music, in which she can express her love for the clear and simple singing. She lives as a freelance singer in Winterthur/Switzerland.
With the Bach-Kantorei Dorothea Frey made music for the first in 1992 in J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245), later in 1994 as Michal in Händel's "Saul" and in 1996 in the anniversary concert "10 Jahre Bach-Kantorei".
