William Esch (Bass)

Born: Stillwater, Minnesota, USA

The American bass, William Esch, obtained his degree in Music Education from St. Olaf College (2013).

William Esch made his international debut in Berlin playing Il Commendatore in W.A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni, as well as Reverend John Hale in Robert Ward’s The Crucible with the Berlin Opera Academy. Since moving to New York City, he had worked with Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble singing Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni and Sylvano in Francesco Cavalli’s La Calisto. In other mainstage productions, he covered the Jezevec/Farař and the Harašta,’ in Příhody lišky Bystroušky by Leoš Janáček, and presented scenes from W.A. Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Salieri’s Falstaff playing Osmin and Bardolfo respectively. He has sung Sparafucile with SingThrough Central’s Rigoletto, and Sarastro with New York Lyric Opera Theater's (NYLOT) production of W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. He debuted Sparafucile in the Really Spicy Opera’s production of Rigoletto in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
