Born from the association between the instrument probably the most revered, respected and practiced among all, and the one who introduced the slums of Buenos Aires became the emblematic representative of the Argentine culture, Duo Intermezzo illustrates the meeting of two musicians with different artistic path.
Fed by their now classic influences, sometimes jazz, Marielle Gars (piano) and Sébastien Authemayou (bandoneon), founders of Duo Intermezzo play their complementarity to provide a rich and unique musical universe, punctuated by a tango concerto increasingly inflamed and vehement.
Specializing in the Astor Piazzolla for over ten years through various formations (quintet, quartet, and the orchestra Una Stella), Marielle Gars and Sébastien Authemayou now fully dedicated to their duet Duo Intermezzo and develop innovative spirit through arrangements made specially for this new and original ensemble closer to any meaningful emotional duality between Argentine tango melancholy and sadness, rage and despair .... They also engaged in the creation of an original book about personal compositions Sébastien Authemayou, arranger, composer, member of the SACEM.
inners of numerous music competitions and prizes of conservatories (Accordion, Piano, Chamber Music, Analysis, History of music ...), they have more than sixty concerts under their belt (Festival International of Sylvanès, Pianissimes of Lyon, Grandes Etapes Françaises, Jazz Club of Turin, Sunset Jazz Club of Paris, Semaines Internationales of l’orgue de Toulon, Magazine des festivals de France Musique and Aix en Provence, …). Their two albums “Balada para un loco” & “Bach & Piazzolla - Tête-à-tête”, published by Calliope-Indésens Records were awarded " Choix de France Musique."
