Eamonn Dougan (Baritone)

Born: England

The English baritone, Eamonn Dougan, studied at New College, Oxford as a choral scholar before going on to become a lay-clerk. Next term he begins a postgraduate singing diploma at the Guildhall School where he will study with Susan McCulloch.

With New College Choir, Eamonn Dougan has made numerous recordings and toured widely with The King’s Consort and The Academy of Ancient Music, including solo work. He is co-founder of the Oxford Festival of English Song and directs the period ensemble La Contenance Angloise. Recent solo engagements have included Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem at St John’s Smith Square, broadcast on Classic FM, and the complete songs of Peter Warlock. Future plans include Schubert’s Die Schöne Müllerin in the Holywell Music Room and a series of programmes investigating the French chanson.
