The French tenor, Jérôme Desprez, trained at the Maîtrise de Bretagne from an early age. He studied singing in Pontivy with Agnès Brosset and followed a full course at the Conservatoire De Pontivy (DEM, 2003-2011) and the Université de Rennes (2008-2011). In 2005, he joined the Chœurs de l’Opéra de Rennes and Chœur de Chambre Mélisme(s) (Director: Gildas Pungier). He obtained his Diploma of Musical Studies in singing and his license in music in 2011; then he perfected his skills in Baroque singing at the Pôle Supérieur in Paris, with Howard Crook and Isabelle Poulenard.
As a soloist, Jérôme Desprez regularly performs at the Créneaux de Suscinio, in productions by Érik Krüger (W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and Bastien und Bastienne, Benjamin Britten's The Beggar's Opera), as well as in various productions in partnership with the Académie de Musique et d’Arts Sacrés. He also sings in various professional vocal ensembles (Mélisme(s), Les Cris de Paris, Oxymore, Quatuor Charivari). Interested in pedagogy, he obtained his State Diploma of Singing Teacher in 2016, and has been teaching at the Académie De Sainte-Anne d'Auray since September 2017. He has also directed the Choeur Nicolazic since 2019. He is married to to Solenne Desprez and currently lives in Grand-Champ. |
