Founded: 1979 - Moscow, Russia

The Bolshoi Theater Chamber Orchestra (= BTCO) was founded by the Bolshoi Theater's Principal Conductor Yuri Simonov and members of the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra. The orchestra made its first concert appearance in 1979 to great public and critical acclaim. Since then, the orchestra has appeared regularly on concert stages of Moscow and other cities of the former Soviet Union. Under the direction of Yuri Simonov, the orchestra went on tour to Germany, Italy, Hungary, and Poland.
