1. Aria B |
1. Song |
|
Oboe, Violino I/II, Viola, Continuo |
|
Ich habe genug,
Ich habe den Heiland, das Hoffen der Frommen,
Auf meine begierigen Arme genommen;
Ich habe genug! |
I now have enough.
I’ve taken the Savior, the hope of the righteous,
in my longing arms, to my heart I’ve embraced him.
I now have enough!
I’ve caught sight of him, |
|
Ich hab ihn erblickt,
Mein Glaube hat Jesum ans Herze gedrückt;
Nun wünsch ich, noch heute mit Freuden
Von hinnen zu scheiden.
|
My faith has pressed Jesus now close to my heart;
now I wish, yet this day, with gladness
to depart from this world.
I now have enough!
|
| |
|
2. Recitativo B |
2. Recitation |
|
Continuo |
|
Ich habe genug.
Mein Trost ist nur allein,
Dass Jesus mein und ich sein eigen möchte sein. |
I now have enough.
My comfort’s this alone:
that Jesus might be mine and I his own might be. |
|
Im Glauben halt ich ihn,
Da seh ich auch mit Simeon
Die Freude jenes Lebens schon.
Laßt uns mit diesem Manne ziehn!
Ach! möchte mich von meines Leibes Ketten |
In faith I cling to him;
as I see, too, with Simeon,
the joy of that life, see it now!.
With this man let us now fall in!
Ah, how I wish that from my body’s fetters |
|
Der Herr erretten;
Ach! wäre doch mein Abschied hier,
Mit Freuden sagt ich, Welt, zu dir:
Ich habe genug. |
the Lord might save me!
If now departure time had come,
I’d say with joy, O World, hear this:
I have now enough! |
| |
|
3. Aria B |
3. Song |
|
Violino I/II, Viola, Continuo |
|
Schlummert ein, ihr matten Augen,
Fallet sanft und selig zu! |
Fall asleep, you weary eyes,
gently close with peace and blessing! |
|
Welt, ich bleibe nicht mehr hier,
Hab ich doch kein Teil an dir,
Das der Seele könnte taugen.
|
World, I’m staying no more here,
I’ve in fact no part in you
that would to my soul have value.
|
|
Hier muss ich das Elend bauen,
Aber dort, dort werd ich schauen
Süßen Friede, stille Ruh.
|
I on Earth must build up sadness
but there, there I’ll see before me
sweetest peace and quiet rest.
|
| |
|
4. Recitativo B |
4. Recitation |
|
Organo |
|
Mein Gott! wann kömmt das schöne: Nun! |
My God! when comes the lovely NOW! |
|
Da ich im Friede fahren werde
Und in dem Sande kühler Erde
Und dort bei dir im Schoße ruhn?
Der Abschied ist gemacht,
Welt, gute Nacht! |
when I in peace make my departure
and in the sand of the cool Earth
and there with you in your lap rest?
I’ve made all my farewells.
O World, Good night! |
| |
|
5. Aria B |
5. Song |
|
Oboe, Violino I/II, Viola, Continuo |
|
Ich freue mich auf meinen Tod,
Ach, hätt er sich schon eingefunden. |
I rejoice that I must die,
Ah, how I wish my death were over. |
|
Da entkomm ich aller Not,
Die mich noch auf der Welt gebunden.
|
I’d be past all the distress
that me with the World entangles.
