Johann Döbernitz (Kantor, Copyist)

Born: 1658 - Allstedt, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany
Died: July 7, 1735 - Weimar, Thuringia, Germany

Johann Döbernitz, was tenor and Kantor of Hofkirche (court cantor) of the Weimar Court Capelle. He led the choirboys delegated from the Gymnasium to the court cantorei. He was J.S. Bach's collegue already in his first short tenure in Weimar (1703); and one of his copyists during his second tenure in Weimar (1708-1717), identified in the manuscripts as Anon. Weimar 3.
