Vocala Ensemble (Chamber Choir)

Founded: 2022 - USA

Vocala Ensemble is a professional chamber choir directed by Martin Sędek, known for collaborating on performances of Baroque and sacred music, such as works by J.S. Bach and Dietrich Buxtehude. The ensemble operates under the artistic direction of Martin Sędek, a composer and conductor who took over The Masterwork Chorus in 2024.

Vocala Ensemble specializes in chamber music, often performing repertoire from the North German tradition and other sacred, classical, or choral works. The ensemble has collaborated with historically informed performance groups like La Fiocco for concerts featuring Baroque instrumentalists and vocal soloists. Structure: As a chamber choir, it focuses on high-level, intimate choral performance, distinct from large choral societies.

In late 2025, Vocala Ensemble collaborated with La Fiocco to perform works by J.S. Bach, including Actus tragicus (BWV 106), and other 17th-century composers.
