Kantorei Quickborn (Choir)

Founded: Quickborn, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

The Kanorei Quickborn consists of around 65 members and, under the direction of Michael Schmult, is devoted to church music from the Baroque to modern times.

Once a year (usually in November), the Kanorei Quickborn performs a larger work with soloists and instrumentalists:
2011 The oratorio Paulus by Felix Mendelssohn
2012 Two Masses by Schubert and Haydn
2013 Ein deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms
2014 The Requiem by W.A. Mozart
2018 The Creation by Joseph Haydn
On November 7, 2020 it was planned to perform the oratorio "Elias" by F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. Unfortunately, this project had to be canceled due to the pandemic. In order for singing to be possible at all in 2020, small groups were rehearsed for a few months. For 2021 everyone hopes that at some point a rehearsal with the entire choir can take place again.
