Collegium Lapis Lazuli under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Neva Krysteva is a free society of musicians, with an interest in Baroque interpretation and instruments, but above all in the organ and musica sacra. Its mission is to popularize early music in Bulgaria, to adhere to the principles of historically informed interpretation, to perform and record unperformed or rarely performed on the Bulgarian stage samples of early music. The collegium originated from the organ class at the National Academy of Music, which Prof. Neva Krysteva created and led for many years. In its current form, Collegium Lapis Lazuli has existed since 2022.
In 2024, the collegium has performed ten concerts in Sofia and in the country, participated in two festivals, and premiered six spiritual cantatas by Dietrich Buxtehude and J.S. Bach within the cycle "The Organ and Spiritual Cantatas" and two studio recordings of works by the aforementioned composers. In 2025, for the period January-April, he performed three concerts. |
