Gradus Ad Musicam (Vocal & Instrumental Ensemble)

Founded: February 1982 - Nancy, Lorraine, France

Gradus Ad Musicam (= GAM) brings together 150 musicians in various choral and orchestral formations. Allowing the greatest number of people to access high-level musical productions, through specific work and training structures, these are its objectives.

Created in 1982 by François Legée, the GAM has given under his direction more than 2,000 concerts in the Lorraine region, in France and abroad. Singers, instrumentalists, amateurs or young professionals are divided into 4 groups of different levels. The GAM is intended to be a flexible structure, with variable geometry, which can adapt to several projects from various structures, such as municipalities, associations ...

With 2 choral formations (a Grand Choir and a Vocal Ensemble), and two orchestral formations, (a Grand Orchestra, a Chamber Orchestra), the GAM's repertoire is vast and diverse and includes works from the 17th to the 21st century
