Zang Edam (Choir)

Founded: 1883 - Edam, The Netherlands

Zang Edam is a mixed choir with approximately sixty members. The choir was founded in 1883 and since the end of 2015 they have been singing under the direction of conductor Benjamin Bakker, who pays close attention to vocal development and vocal technique.

Zang Edam gives an annual "major" concert in the monumental Grote Kerk (Great Church) of Edam, primarily performing major classical works, such as J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248, Johannes Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem, and Rossini's Petite messe solennelle. They also perform a concert or musical activity at another location.
