Description:

Both single sheet and illustration to volume one of the Bach Complete Edition, first with Bach’s signature and later with the printed signature “JOH. SEB. BACH”. This work is the most exact partial reproduction of the Haussmann portrait of 1746 (B-01) before the latter underwent radical alterations.

25 x 21.5 cm.

Engraver: L.C. Sichling (1812-1863), an etcher and steel engraver born in Nuremberg and worked in Leipzig.
