Bach's music: "from Christmas to Christmas" (The Voice of Russia)

History & Mission:

The 1st international Bach festival held in Russia, “From Christmas to Christmas”, included 20 concert venues in Muscow, hosting 30 concerts featuring 87 soloists and 20 musical groups from 10 countries (including Bulgaria, Germany, Poland, Austria and the USA). The programme consisted entirely of J.S. Bach’s music, including a hitherto unknown concerto for flute, violin, oboe and orchestra. The well-known theater director Roman Viktyuk presented a dramatized version of J.S. Bach’s Cantata BWV 207, “United Discord of Changing Strings”. ” The secular cantatas BWV 201 and BWV 205 with scenic statement of the theatrical regisseuir Roman Viktyuk were also perfformed An exhibition of works by Tatyana Nazarenko, “Bach and Christmas”, went on display at the Arkhangelskoye estate-museum near Moscow.
