Cantate et Parole

History & Mission:

Cantate et Parole (Cantata and Speech) is an event which takes place from October to May at the Church of Villamont in Lausanne. The second Sunday of the month, 18:00, you can hear a cantata by J.S. Bach (or sometimes one of his contemporaries), accompanied by a meditative text thereto.

The cantatas are performed by local musicians, as well as guests. The core of the instrumental ensemble is formed by members of the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne.

These monthly events were created in 2001 by Jean-Daniel Hostettler, in collaboration with Markus Haeberling for recruiting players. In 2005, an association was founded in order to ensure a sustainable organization.
