History & Mission: |
Stichting Bach Cantates 's-Hertogenbosch (Bach Cantatas Foundation) was founded in 2006 as a continuation of the Werkgroep Bachcantates 's-Hertogenbosch and ensures that in principle every season six cantatas of J.S. Bach are performed by the choir and orchestra Cappella Hieronymus Bosch under the artistic direction of Jerome Felix.
Through fundraising and the composition of a group of donors to the Foundation the cantata series firmly anchor the Bossche community and it is also the objective of ensuring continuity of this accessible, high quality cultural activities in 's-Hertogenbosch. The cantata concerts take place in the special ambience of the Hieronymus Bosch Art Center, at the end of the Saturday afternoon (17:00 to 17:45). The cantata ends with the singing of a chorale with the audience.
Due to the basic principle of the Foundation that the performances of the cantatas should be accessible for the general public, it was chosen not to charge entrance fees to the cantata concerts. |
