History & Mission:

Bach around the Clock: All-day concerts of music by J.S. Bach, celebrating his Birthday First Lutheran Church
Since 2009 the annual Bach Birthday Celebration has become one of Boston’s unique musical offerings. An all-day celebration of the great composer’s organ works the annual festival features organists from the Boston Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Traditionally they ffer a program for families with little children as well as lunch and a reception with a Bach Birthday cake. Past performers include William Porter, James David Christie, Heinrich Christensen, Brett Maguire, Joyce Painter Rice and more, mostly performing free of charge. This event is free and open to the public. Concerts begin at 6:00 a.m. and end at 6 p.m., all concerts beginning on the hour.
