History & Mission: |
Every year Arnstadt celebrates the music and work of the great composer
J.S. Bach. People from all over the world come to experience Bach on original settings which makes this atmosphere so special. All venues of concerts, scenic plays and recitals are those
J.S. Bach himself and his family once knew: his residential house at this time in Arnstadt, the church itself, the Church of St. Batholomew in Dornheim where he married his first wife Maria Barbara and many more.
Highlights of the 2010 Festival were: opening concert with Martin Stadtfeld, reading with the author of The Revelation and a scenic play about the Bach Family, including a three-course-menu.
Highlights of the upcoming Festival (2012): opening concert with the Ensembles Lautten Compagney and Calmus Ensemble, concert “The Duo Sessions” with Baiba und Lauma Skride and closing concert with Nils Mönkemeyer. |
