Jürgen Wolf (Conductor, Organ, Harpsichord)

Born: 1961 - Bad Mergentheim, Germany

The German conductor, organist and harpsichordist, Jürgen Wolf, studied in Würzburg and Heidelberg, organ and music science and was active in the building of organs. In Vienna he rounded off the study of the Evangelist church music with the A-exam (organ with Professor A. Mitterhofer). Already during his studies, Jürgen he was busy intensively with historical performance practice, in particular with the interpretation of Bach’s music. In 1992 he attained also "Magister Artium ". Various courses and private studies completed his training.

Jürgen Wolf has intentional concert activity and has participated in numerous broadcast productions. In 1993 he was appointed to the office of the Nikolaikantor to Leipzig. Apart from his activity as organist and choir leader, he is also active as a composer and as a guest conductor of the Chursächsischen Philharmonie.
