Daisy Walford (Soprano)

Born: Exeter, Devon England

The English soprano, Daisy Walford, graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with first-class honours (2013-2017), under the tutelage of Wendy Eathorne and Anna Tilbrook. Whilst there, she held scholarships, generously supported by Dame Susan Morden Trust and Trinity College London. She currently studies with Veronica Veysey Campbell.

Daisy Walford is in high demand as a soloist for concert and Oratorio. Her most recent performances include; Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria with Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, J.S. Bach's Mass in B Minor (BWV 232) with Swansea Philharmonic Choir and George Frideric Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus with Barnet Choral Society.

On the stage, Daisy Walford has performed the role of Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas for The Erebus Ensemble, covered Signora Avolio and sang chorus in Nick Drake’s play All the Angels, performed at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Shakespeare’s Globe. Daisy went on to play Devil in The Tempest as part of a Restoration Shakespeare research programme at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Shakespeare’s Globe. Most recently, she performed in a staged production of the J.S. Bach's St. John Passion (BWV 245) with the Choir and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and directed by Peter Sellars. This performance toured to prestigious theatres around Europe, such as, The Royal Festival Hall, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Philharmonie Luxembourg and Alte Oper, Frankfurt.

As an ensemble singer, Daisy Walford performs with some of the worlds leading ensembles, including, Tenebrae (Director: Nigel Short), The Tallis Scholars (Director: Peter Phillips), The Sixteen (Director: Harry Christophers), Oxford Camerata (Director: Jeremy Summerley), Polyphony (Director: Stephen Layton), Philharmonia Voices, London Voices (Director: Terry Edwards) and Choir of the Age of Enlightenment. She currently lives in London, England.
