Gregory Voinier (Baritone)

Born: Rockaway, New Jersey, USA

The American baritone and music teacher (voice, piano, guitar), Gregory Voinier, obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Montclair State University (2004-2010); and his Master of Music in Opera Performance from the University of Maryland College Park: Maryland Opera Studio (2013-2015). He currently studies with Carmen Balthrop.

Hailed for his “rich, yet agile sound” and “superb comedic timing”, Gregory Voinier is an active artist since 2008 in opera, oratorio, and concert repertoire and is based in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. His stage roles have included included Montano in Otello and Sam/Silvano in Un Ballo in Maschera, Papageno in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia with OperaNOVA, Bob in The Old Maid and the Thief, Guglielmo in W.A. Mozart's Cosí Fan Tutte and Martino in L’occasione fa il ladro.

Gregory Voinier brings his artistry to the concert stage and recently was a guest soloist for Carmina Burana with Peak Performances in New Jersey. He was featured in the New Jersey premiere of Samuel Barber’s The Lovers with Harmonium Choral Society and also performed frequently as a bass soloist for the University of Maryland: Bach Cantata Series.

Gregory Voinier taught for three years as an elementary music teacher in several public schools. He has been camp counseling, tutoring, and private lesson teaching since 2004. He was Teacher at Rockaway Township Board of Education in New Jersey (September 2011-June 2013). As an educator, he finds the untapped potential with his students. He helps his students to critique themselves so they are able to work independently outside of the studio. The main goal of his teaching is for students to know what method works best for them so they can discover not only the artist but the person within themselves.
