The Finnish mezzo-soprano, Johanna Talasniemi, obtained her Master’s Degree in Music Education from the Sibeliuys Academy in Helsinki; and her Doctor of Music degree in Historical Singer Research from the University of the Arts Helsinki (2014; expected graduation in 2020).
Johanna Talasniemi has been active as a freelance mezzo-soprano since 2012. She was a member of the Ring Ensemble of Finland. She has been teaching singing at Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulu - Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences since 2017, and served there also as Tutkintovastaava/Head of Degree Programme in Music Education (2009-December 2016) and Osaamisaluepäällikkö - Head of Department of Music (January 2017-December 2018).
