Born: The Netherlands

The Dutch soprano Mieke van the Sluis completed her singing studies at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Among her teacher were Erna Spoorenberg and Max van Egmond.

Her repertoire reaches from early Baroque music up to contemporary compositions. However, she concentrates on the music 17th and 18th centuries and is considered also as specialist in Baroque operas, cantatas and oratorios. Among her partners in numerous appearances and CD productions are, for example, Ton Koopman, Christopher Hogwood, Bob van Asperen or Gustav Leonhardt.
