The German contralto and mezzo-soprano, Astrid Schubert, studied singing at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule in Düsseldorf with Professor Dr. Heinz J. Scholz and Gabor Antalffy. She concluded her studies with artistic maturity. Participation in master-classes with Helmuth Rilling at the Bachakademie in Stuttgart gave her valuable artistic encouragement, and she appeared there repeatedly as alto singer in J.S. Bach's cantatas and oratorios. Resuming of her studies led her to the mezzo-soprano Anna Reynolds. Astrid Schubert was scholarship holder of the Düsseldorf's Richard-Wagner-Verbandes and received honour prize of the German-Japanese Musikförderkreises. |
