The Italian bass and music teacher, Marco Ricagno, obtained his Diploma in Singing from the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi di Torino, sezione staccata di Cuneo (1983-1988); and his Master's Degree in Literature from the Università degli Studi di Torino (1984-2003). He won the AS.LI.CO (1992) and the Selezioni della Fondazione Toscanini di Parma (1994).
Marco Ricagno has benn active as a singer since 1987. He has distinguished himself in a wide repertoire including early music (Orlando di Lasso, Marenzio, da Victoria, Monteverdi, Gesualdo, Carissimi, Rubino, J.S. Bach), the opera (Monteverdi, Melani, Cesti, Purcell, George Frideric Handel, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Cimarosa, Salieri, W.A. Mozart, Rossini, Satie, Weill), chamber music (Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Ravel, Igor Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Ghedini, Benjamin Britten, Béla Bartók, Piazzolla), contemporary music (Fuga, Ferrari, Donorà, Correggia, Merz, Franco Ricagno, Henze, Correggia), participating in numerous first performances.
Marco Ricagno has been director of instrumental vocal ensembles, he has directed and revised theatrical works and performances for children, he has composed music for films and concerts. He sang in Italy, Montecarlo, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Croatia.
Marco Ricagno has recorded for Amadeus, K617, Manifesto, Istituto per i beni culturali del Piemonte, Bongiovanni, Tactus, Glossa, and the CD "Ma i tuoi usignoli vivono dedicato a Franco Ricagno". He has collaborated since 1996 with the RSI (Radio-Televisione della Svizzera Italiana).
Marco Ricagno has been a lecturer in Singing and Scenic Art since 1990 at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali della Valle d'Aosta. In 2007 he published for Nino Aragno Editore the modern re-edition of the Renaissance treatise on the nobility and excellence of women by Enrico Cornelio Agrippa. In 2010, he founded the non-profit organization Domus of which he was a member of the board until 2014. |
