Ariadne Oliveira (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: March 14, ____ - Curitiba, State of Paraná, Brazil

The Brazilian coloratura mezzo-soprano, Ariadne Oliveira, graduated in Lyrical Singing from the Escola de Música e Belas Artes do Paraná,, in the singing class of soprano Neyde Thomas (2002). In 2005, she won a Music Scholarship (Fundação VITAE) and studied vocal technique and repertoire with the mezzo-soprano Bianca-Maria Casoni (Professor at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala), in Milan, Italy. She also improved her technique with the famous baritone Roman Trekel (teacher of the Hochschule Für Musik Hanns Eisler and singer of the Berliner Staatsoper), in Berlin, Germany (2006-2007). She is winner of all the most important singing competitions in Brazil (like Maria Callas and Bidu Sayão).

Ariadne Oliveira made her opera debut in the role of Rosina, the opera Il barbiere di Siviglia at Theatro São Pedro, São Paulo, in 2005, been performing since then in several operas, always as soloist, in the important halls in Brazil and abroad. She is also dedicated to symphonic music, and among his many performances, we can highlight her concert with Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo (OSESP), in March 2009, as a soloist of the work El Amor Brujo by Manuel de Falla. Also in 2009, she shone in recital at the Teatro Argentino de La Plata (Argentina) at the invitation of renowned conductor Reinaldo Censabella. Made the world premiere of the work Vox Amazoniae by the composer Harry Crowl, with the Paraná Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Hans-Peter Frank (Germany) in 2011. She is mezzo-soprano at Camerata Antiqua de Curitiba (since September 2010).

Ariadne Oliveira has won several national and internacional singing competitions. With her strong technique, she specializes in the operas of the Classical and “Bel Canto” periods (specially Mozart and Rossini). In 2008, she won one of the most importants singing competitions of Latin America: the “Bidu Sayão International Vocal Competition 2008”, awarded with the prizes “Best Female Voice” and “Best Song Interpreter.” In 2017 and 2018, she received in São Paulo, from the Sociedade Brasileira de Artes, Cultura e Ensino - Ordem do Mérito Cultural Carlos Gomes, the title of “Comendadora,” and the “Excelência da Música Erudita – Maestro Carlos Gomes” award, "in recognition of her artistic achievements.
