The French bass, Baptiste Jore, studied singing with Professor Jacqueline Bonnardot at the Schola Cantorum (2000-2002). He continued his singing studies with Professors Yves Sotin and Eric Beillevaire at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Saint Maur des Fossés, obtaining Diploma of Music Education and first prize for singing unanimously (2002-2006). From 2004 to 2016, he studierd privately with Malcolm King Alexander technique and singing.
Baptiste Jore performs as as a soloist in opera and oratroirio since January 2006. On stage, he embodied the Fauteuil (Armchair) and the Arbre (Tree) in the l'Enfant et les Sortilèges by M. Ravel and Bartholo in Le nozze di Figaro by W.A. Mozart (staged by Alex Candia, conducted by Jean-Pierre Ballon), at the Théâtre de Saint Maur des Fossés. He was also Zuniga in Carmen by Georges Bizet and the Sprecher in Die Zauberflöte by W.A. Mozart (stasged by Bernard Pisani, conducted by Olivier Holt) at the Festival Gloriana. In this same opera, he could be heard in the role of Sarastro at the Conservatoire du XXe Arrondissement à Paris (staged by Joëlle Vautier, conducted by Brunon Rossignol), but also at the Conservatoire de Clamart (directed by Lionel Erpelding, conducted by Dominique Sourisse) or at the Nationale de Châteauroux (staged by Benoist Brumer, conducted by by Christophe Millet). Hae also sung the roles of Mars in Orphée aux Enfers by Offenbach, Basilio in Le Barbier de Séville by Rossini, Calchas in La Belle Hélène by Offenbach.
Baptiste Jore regularly performs as a soloist some great parts of sacred music (the role of Pilatus, Jesus and the bass arias in Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) by J.S. Bach, his Magnificat (BWV 243) and the cantatas, La Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini, Requiem by W.A. Mozart, Stabat Mater by Dvorak, Requiem by Gabriel Fauré, Paulus by Felix Mendelssohn, Nelson Mass by J. Haydn, Requiem by Gilles, Passion selon Saint Matthieu by Künhausen, Te Deum by Charpentier, De Profundis by Lalande …), he willingly assists in contemporary creation (Messe Brève by D. Simonnet, Le Crime by Mathilde by J.M. Déhan or Et Iterum Venturus Est by P. Bannister). He also participated in the creation of the opera Surgir by Grégoire Letouvet, a short film produced by Fémis, under the sponsorship of Pierre Boulez and Patrice Chéreau.
Baptiste Jore teaches singing with Musique Sacrée à Notre-Dame de Paris (since Januery 2012), and Orchestre de Paris (since September 2013). He is currently a chorister and soloist at the Chœur de l'Armée Française (since March 2005), formation of the Garde Républicaine. He is also sings with Le Concert Étranger (Director: Itay Jedlin). He also gives singing lessons to the men of the Chœur de Grenelle. |
