Erika Gál (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: July 1, ____ - Debrecen, Hungary

The Hungarian mezzo-soprano, Erika Gál, has received her diploma from the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy in Debrecen. She continued her studies in the Opera Stúdióban in the 2001-2002 season. In 2001 she won the Richard Wagner Society Scholarship, which helped her to acquire valuable experience in Bayreuth.

In September 2002, Erika Gál has signed a contract with the Hungarian State Opera House (Magyar Állami Operaház). In 2003, she won the Voice of the Year title and in 2004 she was a prize-winner of the Mándy Foundation. In 2005 she was invited to the Bucharest International Opera Festival. She has regularly performed in the Bartók + … Miskolc International Opera Festival. She toured in Finland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Romania, Japan and Thailand.
