The Swiss soprano, Lorenza Donadini, followed a dual education in Music and Philology. She completed her studies in Musicology at the Musikwissenschaft Institut Basel with honours, studying with Professors Joseph Willimann and Wulf Arlt (Class of 2006). She followed practical musical studies at the nearby Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she specialised in Medieval and Renaissance Voice with teachers Richard Levitt, Kathleen Dineen and Dominique Vellard (Class of 2007). Alongside early music, she studied bel canto with Stefan Haselhoff and followed an advanced singing course at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana with Luisa Castellani. Since October 2017 has started a Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano (Canton Ticino, Switzerland).
As a soloist and ensemble singer, Lorenza Donadini appears regularly with groups including Peregrina (Director: Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett), Coro della Radio Svizzera (Director: Diego Fasolis), Ensemble Leones (Director: Marc Lewon), Il Canto di Orfeo (Director: Gianluca Capuano), Cantica Symphonia (Director: Giuseppe Maletto), Venice Baroque Orchestra (Director: Andrea Marcon), with whom she took part in an acclaimed tour and recordings in Europe and the USA.
Since 2012, Lorenza Donadini has worked with Brunella Clerici, director of the children’s choir Clairière at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana, as vocal coach to their soloists.
