The American mezzo-soprano, Liz Culpepper, obtained he Bachelor of Arts degree in Voice Performance from the Butler School of Music at University of Texas at Austin (2013-2015); and her Master of Music degree in Voice from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University (2015-2017), where she was Graduate Assistant. Among her teachers: Patricia Havranek, Darlene Wiley and Cynthia Morrow. She is winner of Winner Metropolitan National Council Auditions: Indiana District (2017) and National Society of Arts and Letters: Bloomington Chapter (2018, 2019, 2020).
Liz Culpepper has performed a number of roles at Indiana University (Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, 2016; Mrs. Sedley in Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes, 2017; Madame de Croissy in Francis Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites, 2018) and has performed in operas at summer music festivals across the country (First Secretary in Nixon in China at Princeton Festival, 2019; Suzuki in Madama Butterfly at Brevard Music Center, 2018).
Before beginning her studies in Opera at Indiana University in 2015, Liz Culpepper specialized in Early Music as a soprano. She frequently performed as a soloist at the Blanton Museum of Art in Austin, Texas, with the University of Texas' Chamber Singers in their monthly Butler School of Music: Bach Cantata Project. She was Alto Section Leader at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Austin, Texas (August 2014-July 2015); Alto Section Leader at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) (since January 2016); Associate Instructor at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (since August 2017).
