It is an honor for me to contribute to the Chinese translation of Bach's 389 Chorales for the BCW website. The Chorales are numbered according to the "389 Choralgesänge für vierstimmigen gemischten Chor", which are published by the Breitkopf & Härtel (Nr. 3765) in 1898. Nearly all of the chorales from the Cantatas are included in the content, along with BWV 250-438.
Since I am not a fan of metrical poetry, I attempted to make use of plain words in my translations to convey the sincere feelings of the artists, including those of Bach, the composers of melody, as well as the authors of the texts. I have greatly appreciated the help I have received from Mr. Oron, the Webmaster of BCW. Without all of his work, we would lose one of the best places for communicating with Bach. The BCW website is a true blessing for Bach lovers, and we should all thank him for his amazing work!
