Ascension Day celebrated the Jesus' ascension to heaven. It is the 40th day of Easter (or 39 days after Easter Sunday). This is one of chief feasts of the Christian year, and it dates back at least to the later 300's, as is widely attested. It is also known as Father's Day or Men's Day in some areas of Germany.
