Winterbeker Kammerorchester (Chamber Orchestra)

Founded: End of 1970's - Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

The Winterbeker Kammerorchester was founded in Kiel at the end of the 1970's. The name is a reminder of the first rehearsal venue in the Musiksaal of the Max-Planck-Schule on Winterbeker Weg.

Since then, the orchestra has been playing under changing direction at various locations in Schleswig-Holstein. The repertoire includes music of all epochs to the present, works by J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, W.A. Mozart, L.v. Beethoven, Grieg to Benjamin Britten, John Rutter and Grössler, often in collaboration with choirs and soloists of our state Schleswig-Holstein.
